1. I’LL HAVE WHAT SHE’S COOKING

Thinking about starting up a food business? And, you’re a woman? Boom: “Fab Is a New Educational Conference for Women in Food.” Eater profiles the new initiative, which will launch this summer in Charleston, N.C., and includes high-profile food industry folks from across North America.

2. DANISH DEBATE

In “Hygge? Lagom? Folkelgt? Let’s Say Them All,” Food 52 weighs in on the conversation about which Danish concept North Americans should import for the betterment of our lifestyles. For some background, also check out this New Yorker take from late last year.

3. FAMILY MEDICINE

For a personal tale about the powers—or perhaps lack thereof—of turmeric, check out “A Grandmother’s Secret Turmeric Prescription” from The New York Times. Includes a recipe for Turmeric Tea, which just might cure what ails you.

4. KITCHEN SINK WHISKEY

Punch offers a fascinating—and somewhat funny—account of a new trend of home blending whiskey: “How the Infinity Bottle Became a Whiskey Nerd Obsession.” Perhaps not surprisingly, the article’s main source is Reddit.

5. BURGER BURG

We would never suggest that you eat a burger every day, but we’re glad that someone did and wrote about it for Toronto Life. “Toronto’s top 10 burgers, according to a guy who ate a burger every day in 2016” proves again that, while a comfort good menu item, burgers can also reach gourmet heights.
